Calling
Tammy
14A

Tammy is having a bad day. She’s totaled her clunker car, got fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint and, instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbour in her own house. It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma; Pearl is her only option with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.

Sixty-year-old billionaire hedge fund manager Robert Miller (Richard Gere) has cooked his company’s books in order to cover an investment loss and avoid being arrested for fraud before he can sell his company for a handsome profit. One night when the sale is almost closed, while driving with his mistress (Laetitia Casta), he begins to doze off and has an accident in which she is killed. Although injured, Miller leaves the scene as the car goes up in flames. Now, in order to prevent the public, the prospective buyer James Mayfield (Graydon Carter) and his wife (Susan Sarandon), from discovering the truth, he tries to cover up his involvement. At the same time, he tries to avoid the police detective Bryer (Tim Roth), who is keen on arresting a billionaire for murder, relating him to the case. While all this is going on, Miller’s daughter (Brit Marling), who works in his company, discovers that Miller cooked the books and realizes that she could be implicated and confronts her father.
